Jean de Fiennes (Vetu) 1885-86, Musée Rodin cast no. 5/8 in 1983 Bronze 82 x 48 x 38 inches Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation Rodin assumed Jean de Fiennes to be the youngest of the six burghers. As was his custom, Rodin modeled several versions of Jean de Fiennes before deciding on the final model. The conclusive model retained the same stance as the earlier studies, however, the hair was now fuller and his feet were visible as though they were stepping forward. The burgher's expression is very doubting as if he has not quite accepted his seemingly imminent fate.
