Gerald Cantor Foundation Although the date of this partial figure is unknown, it has been speculated that it may have developed from studies done for Rodin's monumental project, The Gates of Hell. The twisting contortion of the body is somewhat reminiscent of Meditation without Arms and the smoothness of the upper body shows similarities to another partial figure, The Prayer.
